Introducing The Element’s 2024-2025 Class of Enfluencers
In true Element fashion, we’re continuing one of our favorite traditions, “Class of Enfluencers,” which highlights Kent State’s very own while shedding light on the history of Black History Month, which started on our campus with the legacy of Black United Students.
For context: Black History Month, originally founded by Dr. Carter G. Woodson in 1926 as a weeklong celebration, expanded to a month in 1970, thanks to Black United Students. Officially recognized by President Gerald Ford, it is now celebrated worldwide, honoring Black history, culture, and contributions.
As The Element continues our annual Black History Month tradition, we are adding a twist: Class of Enfluencers: Visionaries. Our Visionaries are a sub-cohort of our annual class, dedicated to the graduates who are about to make their mark, with their influence still ahead of them. The Black excellence that resides within our peers has allowed them to leave a meaningful mark as leaders within Kent State. Additionally, they have impacted the trajectory of the Black experience on campus for underclassmen, showcased the strides they have made in their careers, and shared the journeys that have shaped them into the best of the best!
We introduce to some, but present to others, The Class of 2024-2025 Enfluencers: Amaya Berry, Aniyah Davies, Amaya Rushing, Issac Britten, Jada Corey, Jessica Smith, Khori Davies, Malcolm Morgan, Nicole Farmer, and Renee Ellis.
Happy Black History Month, everyone!
